According to this method of manufacturing moulded components from preimpregnated materials consisting of a reinforcement structure impregnated with a partially cured thermosetting resin composition, especially large-sized rigid components having flat surfaces of very good planarity, an operation of shaping of one or more layers of preimpregnated material is carried out, and an operation of heating to a chosen temperature for a chosen time is carried out in order to complete the curing of the resin. According to the invention, preimpregnated materials are chosen in which the impregnation resin is a phenol-formaldehyde resin of the resol type, and the shaping operation is performed by creating a vacuum in a closed space in which one or more superimposed layers of preimpregnated materials have been placed on a shaped support, the vacuum being maintained during the subsequent heating operation.
