PURPOSE:To attain a software diagnostic system by applying a multi-crew method having high diagnostic resolution in a single fault state and then a start-small method which increases a normal confirmation range in a mufti-fault state and therefore covering the defects with each other between both methods. CONSTITUTION:A device to be diagnosed is diagnosed by both start-small and multi-crew methods, and the contents retrieved from each diagnostic dictionary based on each diagnostic method are compared with each other. If the contents obtained by the multi-crew method which uses the results of all tests are included in the contents of the start-small method which increases gradually a confirmation range for execution of the diagnosis, a package is replaced with another based on the contents retrieved by the multi-crew method. If not, the package is replaced based on the contents retrieved by the start-small method respectively. |
