The equipment damping the noise from hand firearms has a hollow body. This is in the form of a protable tunnel (10) with a sound-dampening outer casing (12) and sound-absorbent lining (14). A system (20) allows it be slid in front of the firing position and/or secured, and shooting can take place through it with the gunbarrel mouth (28) outside it. It can be a straight hollow body, with the casing of aluminium panels, wood or plastic. It can be supported by unfolding feet. The dimensions can be such as to allow accommodation in the shooting butt (18) when not in use. ADVANTAGE - Effective and easily portable.
