PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a fire resulting from a mistake made during electric discharge machining by employing an aqueous solution of incombustible acetate of excellent working property as the electric discharge machining dielectric fluid. CONSTITUTION:Used as the electric discharge machining dielectric fluid is an aqueous solution of acetate with a flashpoint of more than 100 deg.C, e.g., diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate. Because such an aqueous solution is of excellent working property and incombustible, there is no possibility of occurrence of a fire if a mistake is made during electric discharge machining. Accordingly, unmanned operation is permitted in electric discharge machining. |
