Rotatable, radial flow ring gap filter, which is bearing mounted in an enclosed housing, having at least one open end for fluid outflow and a pressure differential between the clean and dirty sides of the filter, is novel in that the ring filter (4) is open at both ends but sealed, against either the housing or the rigid connected cover plates to separate the clean and dirty chambers. USE/ADVANTAGE - Ring filter mounting/bearing arrangement reduces the frictional effect produced by the pressure difference acting along the rotation shaft and thereby avoiding impedance to rotation when the ring cage is required to be cleared against the fixed scraper blade.
