Off-set rotary printing machine with four printing units - can print both sides of strip of paper in four colours

An offset rotary printing machine has four printing units (1) to (4) installed one above another. Each unit consists of four cylinders, two plate cylinders (5) (6) and two blanket cylinders (7,8). A continuous strip of paper (9) is fed upwards between the blanket cylinders (7,8) of each of the lower three units (1-3). The paper is thus printed in three colours on both sides whilst a second strip of paper (10) is printed in one colour on both sides in the upper printing unit (4). The printing machine can be operated with each strip of paper passing through a different number of printing units. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rotary printing machine which can print both sides of one sheet in four colours or two sheets in fewer colours.
