PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a clamping head and save its installation space by arranging a knockout ring that surrounds a clamping mandrel and is resiliently supported on a holder arm which guides it. CONSTITUTION: A holder arm 1 is fixedly coupled to the stationary sidewall or arm of a support for a paper web roll, in which support a gear 2 is rotatably supported. The gear 2 meshes with a rack 3 on a bearing bushing 4 so as to be operated manually or by an adjustable motor. Within the chamber defined inside the bearing bushing 4, a clamping mandrel 6 is supported for rotation as well as against axial movement in relation to the bearing bushing 4. The clamping mandrel 6 is formed, at its free end projecting from the bearing bushing 4, with expansible jaws 7 for retaining the sleeve of a paper web roll fitted thereon. A clamping ring 9 has an end face 8, which serves as a stopper for the fitted sleeve. |
