The door-mat (1) for cleaning shoes consists of non-abrasive material with a very rough upper surface (3) and which absorbs dirt well. The mat (1) is saturated with a disinfectant cleaning fluid for cleaning shoes. The mat has vertical lengthwise holes in with a high capillary action for vertical carrying the fluid away. The mat (1) is set into a trough containing a store of liq. in its bottom. The mat (1) has a top porous, roughened layer (2) beneath which is a second layer (4) with large pores for absorbing the dirt particles travelling through the top layer (2). ADVANTAGE - The door-mat gives a damp clean to shoes which are thereby disinfected.
