Sealing components for making watertight and fire resistant cable conduits through ceilings and walls, consist of an absorbent and/or swellable material and make use of a hollow body of predetermined length. The sealing components holding the cable at a distance are mounted in the plane of the end surface of the cable conduit and the remaining void space between the wall of the cable conduit and the sealing components are filled with further sealing components made of the same material, and after drawing all the cables through. The end surfaces of the hollow body are sealed and the hollow body is filled with a hardenable two-part casting compsn., and the end faces of the sealing components are provided with an adhesive layer over at least part of their surface.
