The harvester has a mobile base (12) with a crop harvester heaoer (20) connected via a two-way hydraulic actuator. An energy-storage hydro-pneumatic accumulator is coupled to each pressure supply line and has a higher pressure than the actuators. When the header is at one position and meets an obstruction, the header can pivot away to move over the obstruction. This results in the gas in one accumulator being temporarily compressed.
