(A) In an automatic analytical process, in each analysis operation of a series of analyses at preset intervals, samples are taken, fed to a titration unit, titrated and discharged, the titration unit then being cleaned before a new sample is analysed. The novelty is that the cleaning operation is regulated according to the measurement results. (B) Automatic analytical appts. includes a sampling device (10) for controlled taking of a sample from a process, a titration unit (11,12), a dosing device (16) for supplying titration reagent and for giving a titre signal, a measuring device (14, 15) for providing a titre measurement signal and a cleaning device (17, 18) for cleaning the titration unit (11, 12). The novelty being the provision of an evaluation unit (19) for controlling the cleaning device (17, 18) in dependence on the measurement signals. ADVANTAGE - Extremely accurate measurements are obtained in extremely short time intervals.
