Fuel injection valve - has variable pre-injection control independent of main injection

The valve (1) has preinjection, and is for an air-compressing IC engine. It has a pump piston (14) in a piston bushing (13), and carrying a movable/turnable slide (15). A radial inlet opening (25) in the bushing wall connects in the chamber (22) and pressure chamber (17). The piston has an inclined control edge (26), working with the inlet. A small pocket (27) in the bushing wall has a lower edge, working with the edge of a groove (29) on the pump piston. The piston has an axial preinjection shutoff channel (31), which opens radially into a relief chamber (23), surrounding the slide. The piston also has an axial main injeciton shutoff channel (35), which acts with an inclined control edge (37) on the slide.
