PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and responsiveness of an electrode by a construction wherein a plurality of conductive filaments are buried in parallel in a nonconductive supporting body and made to project from one end part of the supporting body. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of conductive filaments 2 are buried in parallel in a nonconductive supporting body 1 and made to project from one end part 1a of the supporting body 1. The material of the supporting body 1 is not limited particularly on condition that it has an insulating property, and an oxide, a nitride and a carbide such as epoxy and polyimide and also various ceramics and cermets, for instance, are used therefor. An electrode thus constructed is, so to speak, an aggregate of a number of filament-shaped minute electrodes, and when it is used as an enzyme sensor, for instance, each of the conductive filaments operates as a working electrode. Therefore, high-speed responsiveness and excellent sensitivity can be exhibited. |
