At the front end of a tool shank (1), the tool has an inside taper (2) into which a tapered extension (6) formed in one piece with a tool head (5) is inserted. A bolt (8) designed as a screw extends through a through-hole (7) through the tool head (5) and the extension (6). At the end, the bolt (8) has a thread (9) with which the bolt (8) is screwed into a tapped hole (4) formed in the tool shank (1) inwards from the inside taper (2). For the purpose of transmitting axial thrust forces for releasing the taper coupling consisting of the inside taper (2) and the tapered extension (6), the bolt (8) is supported in a fixed position at the tool head (5) by means of the screw head (10) and at the tapered extension (6) by means of a stop (11) consisting of a Seeger-type circlip. With simple means, this embodiment permits the connection and exchange of a tool head (5) at the tool shank (1).
