PURPOSE:To start up an information processing system with the most reliable configuration in the case a failure occurs in a system by storing information classified in accordance with the extent of the failure. CONSTITUTION:This information processing system is provided with a storage means 81 for registering failure information, and a diagnostic means 11 for judging for which failure class the failure belongs; a first failure class that the system can be used by the degeneration operation, a second failure class that the failure can be recovered, and a third failure class that the system cannot be used. Further, in the case of starting up the system, when a device where a failure occurs is present thereon, only a device whose failure class information indicates 1 is incorporated in the system to start up the system. |
