PURPOSE: To provide the subject preparation that contains a water-bonding swelling agent, electrolyte and glucose and can promptly develop its effect. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation comprises (A) 20-70wt.%, preferably 40-43wt.% of a water-bonding swelling agent substantially composed of Isphagula Husk and (B) 40-60wt.%, preferably 53-57wt.% of electrolytes and glucose, and, when necessary, in addition, a filler, for example, fibrous saccharide, a taste modifier and colorants (for example, Tera lubram). As the electrolytes, are used, for example, magnesium oxide, magnesium carbonate hydroxide, calcium silicate, sodium chloride, aluminum phosphate and the salt that is lost by diarrhea, impart buffer effect to the solution or dispersion preparation are selected. This preparation is effective for diarrhea, particularly non- infective diarrhea, and for diarrheas caused by rotavirus and coronavirus. |
