The device has a fuel injection valve (1) with at least two injection apertures (49) each of which is allocated to an aperture (67) of a diaphragm (61) and lies roughly opposite it. This ensures that the fuel is very finely atomised and a largely uniform fuel-gas mixture is formed owing to the gas fed in upstream of the diaphragm (61). The design of the device is particularly suitable for use in mixture-compressing spark-ignition internal combustion engines with several inlet valves per cylinder.
