PURPOSE:To discriminate the deterioration of a plating bath previously in a short time, by performing plating by permitting a bipolar phenomenon, which is more intense than that occuring in a test piece during actual operation, to occur at least >=1 time. CONSTITUTION:Between a couple of electrodes 2 and 3 made of metal in plating bath tub 1, a couple of test pieces 4 and 5 connected by a conductor are arranged, and in this plating bathtub 1, plating bath A to be discriminated is put. Electrodes 2 and 3 are used as anodes and test pieces 4 and 5 are both used as cathodes to plate test pieces 4 and 5 to a prescribed thickness, and then while one electrode is used as an anode, the other is used as a cathode to cause a bipolar phenomenon. Further, the couple of electrodes are used as anodes for plating to the prescribed thickness, and the quality of the plating is tested. Thus, the deterioration state of the plating bath can be discriminated from the relation between the degree of defection in plating as to test pieces 4 and 5 and the time when the bipolar phenomenon occurs. |
