PURPOSE: To prevent a commutator and a winding from being damaged by preventing the displacement of a projected portion during high-speed rotation of the commutator. CONSTITUTION: A commutator is formed by folding a strip 30 made of a conductive material. A strip 30 has a plurality of projected portions 32, separately arranged and projected outwardly from, is one side portion and has at least one recessed portion 38 in a space between neighboring projected portions 32. And this strip 30 is folded and formed on a cylindrical sleeve 42, and the inner surface of the sleeve 42 is covered with an insulating fixing material, and a plurality of slots 46 are formed at the outer peripheral portion of the commutator sleeve 42. Recessed portions 38 provided at the sleeve 42 in a space between neighboring projected portions 32 is covered with a mold material, and thus these recessed portions 38 fix the projected portions 32 in cooperation with the mold material, thereby preventing the displacement of the projected portion 32 during the high-speed rotation of the commutator. |
