PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin film excellent in slipperiness, winding characteristics, etc., by coating the surface of a thermoplastic resin film with a dispersion of specific composite particles, drying, stretching and heat-treating the resultant coated film and forming homogeneous and fine protrusions on the aforementioned surface. CONSTITUTION:At least one surface of a thermoplastic resin film (preferably a polyester resin) is coated with a dispersion of composite particles prepared by applying a colloidal organic polymer particles (preferably an acrylic or a styrene-based polymer) having 0.001-1mum average particle size to the surfaces of colloidal inorganic particles (preferably silica, titanium oxide or aluminum oxide) having preferably 0.001-5mum average particle size and dried. The coated thermoplastic resin film is then stretched in the direction of at least one axis and heat-treated to form homogeneous fine protrusions composed of the above- mentioned composite particles on the surface of the aforementioned film. The fine protrusions on the film are preferably as follows. >=30000 protrusions/mm<2> having <0.2mum height and <=1000 protrusions/mm<2> having >=0.2mum height. |
