LIQUID CRYSTAL PANEL AND LIQUID CRYSTAL PROJECTION TYPE TELEVISION USING THIS PANEL

PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal panel which does not generate the pass- through of light in the peripheral parts of picture element electrodes even if a black matrix is not formed. CONSTITUTION:Projecting parts 15 are formed in the form of stripes between the picture element electrodes 12 and source signal lines 14 in parallel with the source signal lines. The locus (a) of incident light is bent by projecting parts 15 and the light is made incident at an angle gamma on a projecting lens system. The locus (a) of the light is shielded and is prevented from being projected to a screen by using a Schlieren optical system for the projecting lens system. Then, the pass-through of the light in the peripheral parts of the picture element electrodes is prevented.
