<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the subject spunbonded web, high in resistance to heat, strength and dimensional stability, by using polyester-based filaments and binder filaments. CONSTITUTION: This spunbonded web of continuously layered structure, having a basis weight of 50 to 500 g/m<2> , is obtained by spinning load-carrying filaments of polyethylene terephthalate and binder filaments of polyester modified with isophthalic acid, and opening each of these spun filaments by an impingement baffle and baffle for guiding them downward. Each of these filaments has a fineness of 1 to 20 dtex, where the binder filaments are finer and their proportion is 5 to 25 wt.%. These filaments are flame-retarded and the binder filaments are incorporated with carbon black as the antistatic agent. The melting point of the binder filaments is lower than that of the load-carrying filaments by less than 30 deg.C, preferably 10 to 20 deg.C. The web is thermally treated to consolidate the load-carrying filaments by the binder filaments.</p> |
