摘要 |
PURPOSE: To provide blood compatibility, softness and flexibility, and hold sufficient mechanical strength and rigidity for insertion and position adjustment by including a hydrophobic thermoplastic stiffening polyester sealed in a hydrophilic plastic polyether urethane. CONSTITUTION: A catheter tube 10 comprises a body part 12 and a gradually tapered part 13 reaching the contact with an injection needle 11. The tube 10 contains a hydrophobic stiffening polymer sealed by a layer of hydrophilic thermoplastic base polymer. The stiffening polymer is preferably polyester- polyether block coplyether. The base polymer is preferably thermoplastic polyether urethane. The sealed layer may be a stripe layer or an annular layer having the base polymer layers laminated on both sides thereof. |
