MANUFACTURE OF CATALYST

PURPOSE: To facilitate preparation of a heterogeneous catalyst containing metal by decomposing a specialized cyanide complex formed on a carrier under oxidative condition so as to prevent metal ions to be mixed on the carrier from reacting with the carrier. CONSTITUTION: A cyanide complex expressed by the general formula; M1 M2 (CN)p-x (Yx ) (where M1 is one or more metal ions or cation component comprising NH4 <+> and/or a quaternary ammonium ion; M2 forms a part of the anionic moiety and represents one or more polyvalent metals; CN is a cyanide moiety; Y is one or more ligands; (p) is a number ranging in 2-8; (x) is a number ranging in 0-4 and p/x is at least 1 when x>0) is formed on a carrier, which is subjected to a decomposition treatment under oxidative condition. In this way, the catalyst or catalyst precursors without undesirable interaction between the metal ions and the carriers are obtained.
