PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity of accurately positioning microscopic elements one by one, to shorten an operating time and to reduce the variation in positional accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A protrusion 2 is formed on a substrate 1. The upper end of the protrusion 2 and the lower end of an LD chip 3 are coated with a coating material having high wettability with a brazing material 4. The chip 3 is placed on the upper end of the protrusion 2 through the material 4. The material 4 is melted by a method such as heating, etc. Thus, since the chip 3 and the protrusion 2 attract each other by surface tension of the material 4, the chip 3 is accurately brazed to a predetermined position determined by the protrusion 2. |
