PURPOSE:To enhance the positiveness of transporting a deposit passbook and make possible the thinning of a printer by using a clamper as a deposit passbook transport device. CONSTITUTION:A passbook transport device of a printer for deposit passbook entry transports a deposit passbook 151 introduced into an area between a platen roller 15 and a printing device 95 which are arranged vertically in mutually opposite directions, horizontally. This passbook transport device consists of at least, two top and bottom holding members 31, 33 which are constituted so that these can be closed, a clamper 28 including a spring member 34 energizing the two holding members in a direction where they come in contact with the other under pressure, a motor 72 as a power source, and a power transmission mechanism 71 which converts the rotating motion of the motor to a linear movement and transmits it to the holding members. |
