<p>An apparatus for washing or mixing or chopping or dispensing material comprising a housing (10) having a mouth (18), one or more side walls (14-17) and a base (21). In the housing (10) is located a floor or disc member (22) which compartmentalises the housing in a first chamber and a second chamber. Means (20) is provided for rotating the disc member (22) relative to the housing (10) or in unison with the housing (10). The disc member (22) includes a plurality of radially disposed apertures (24) having respective cutting means (26) so that material is subject to a cutting action when passing from the first chamber to the second chamber. The second chamber includes at least one discharge outlet (28) and the disc includes means (35) for urging the material in the second chamber through the outlet.
