<p>A bendable tab 14 for fixing a backing 13 in a picture frame 16 comprises a soft metal tab having a point 15 subtending an angle of about 70 DEG . One pair or plurality of pairs of barbs are provided behind the point 15, each barb 18 comprising a corner 19 and a substantially right-angled undercut. An outward taper behind the barb leads to the full width of the metal tab 14. The tab 14 can be fired using a fixing gun or applied manually and the barb formations cause the point to embed firmly in the wood or plastics material of the frame 16. <IMAGE></p> |
