ROTARY SPRAYING DEVICE INCLUDING COLOR CHANGE DEVICE AND FLUID PRESSURE CONTROL DEVICE

PURPOSE: To reduce coating material wastage and solvent usage and also to permit efficient and quick color change by using an onboard color changer valve manifold and an optional onboard fluid pressure regulator in a rotary atomizer for spray coating objects. CONSTITUTION: The rotary atomizer 10 for spray coating objects includes an onboard color changer valve manifold 140 as well as an optional onboard fluid pressure regulator 145. The manifold 140 facilitates rapid and efficient color change as well reduction of coating material wastage and solvent usage. In the device also mounting of the color changer is contemplated repositionally along an axis, which preferably coincides with the rotary axis 13 of the atomizer 10. This facilitates installation and removal of the regulator 145 and permits the coating material flow path between the discharge port 141 of the color changer and the atomizing head 29 to be kept short and straight to improve flow control and facilitates through flushing of the flow path with solvent.
