PURPOSE:To improve the effect of ink presetting at the time of a small pattern by deciding that there is a pattern on a 'SUMI' (Japanese ink) plate when the area rate of each measurement point is larger than a constant value, and correcting the area rate of an ink zone including the point to more than a constant value. CONSTITUTION:When a color plate other than the 'SUMI' plate has an about >=10% pattern area rate of each beam spot 5, the value obtained by multiplying the measured value by about 120% is employed as a corrected rate and a bit indicating the presence of a pattern is set in a corresponding address of a pattern presence/absence table. Then, pattern area rates of respective spots 5 are totalized to calculate the pattern area rate of each ink zone 2. Then, the pattern presence/absence table is referred to and when there is no pattern, the pattern area rate of the zone 2 is set to 0%. When there is a pattern and the pattern area rate is <=3%, the pattern area rate of the zone 2 is set forcibly to 3% and when not <=3%, the value is employed as it is. Consequently, the pattern area rate of the zone 2 where there is the pattern is at least 3% and the supply amount of ink to an area where the pattern is small is compensated, thereby improved the effect of ink presetting. |
