MANUFACTURE OF GYPSUM FIBER BOARD, ESPECIALLY FLOORING

PURPOSE: To obtain a thick gypsum/fiber board uniform in physical parameters by using calcium sulfate alpha hemihydrate, calcium sulfate beta hemihydrate and a gypsum binder and mixing fibers and mixing water with this binder mixture. CONSTITUTION: A gypsum binder consisting of at least 60 wt.% of calcium sulfate alpha hemihydrate, at most 35 wt.% of calcium sulfate beta hemihydrate and, according to circumstances, a fine particulate inert component is used and at most 20 pts.wt. of fibers are mixed with 100 pts.wt. of this binder mixture. This mixture is supplied to a storage container 16 and sent out to two flow mixers 17 as a prepared amt. per a unit time and a predetermined amt. of mixing water is added to the flow mixers 17 from a container 18. The mixtures wetted within the flow mixers 17 are respectively introduced into a filling box 19 and this filling box 19 is inserted in a press after a predetermined filling amt. has been reached to be pressed. The gypsum/fiber board thus obtained has the total density of at least 1.5 g/cm<3> .
