<p>PURPOSE:To provide a new structure of and a method for driving a dispersion type liquid crystal electro-optical device wherein mutual compensation type thin film transistors of high driving ability are used as active devices. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal electro-optical device has an N-channel type thin film transistor(NTFT) and a P-channel type thin film transistor(PTFT) arranged in such a manner as compensating each other for picture elements and the source portion of the NTFT is connected to the first of the pair of signal conductors and the source portion of the PTFT is connected to the second of the pair of signal conductors and gate electrodes are connected in common to a third signal conductor and a dispersion type liquid crystal material is provided between a first base with which the drain portions of the NTFT and the PTFT are provided while in connection with picture element electrodes and a second base with which electrodes and leads are provided.</p> |
