EBNA-FUSED PROTEIN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide fused proteins containing Epstein Barr virus nuclear antigen (EBNA) 1-6 and a process for producing the fused proteins. CONSTITUTION:(1) A fused protein composed of at least a part of EBNAs and beta-galactosidase or protein A and (2) a process for producing an EBNA-fused protein with a transformant obtained by transforming E.coli using a recombinant DNA technique. Since the EBNA-fused protein can be stably produced in a mass, the panel determination of EBNA and anti-EBNA antibody can be simplified by the use of EBNA or EBNA-fused protein or an anti-EBNA antibody obtained by using these proteins as immunogen. A new process for the diagnosis of EBV-relating diseases can be developed by investigating the EBNA level or anti-EBNA antibody level in each disease and storing the data of the pattern.
