摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the igniting mechanism for a gas generating device for an air bag of a vehicle in which the gas rail is small-sized and gas leak is exceedingly small, so that when a shock value over a prescribed value is detected, a gun hammer collides with the struck surface of a holder for a percussion cap, and the percussion cap is shifted at high speed to a gun hammer needle, and the gun hammer needle is stuck into the gun powder and the gun powder is ignited. CONSTITUTION:A gun hammer 16 is pressed against a percussion cap 7 side by a coil spring 17, and supported by a gun hammer part stopper 18, and held in a potential energy accumulation state. When the shock over a prescribed value is detected by a sensor not shown in the figure, the gun hammer part stopper 18 is pulled up from a gun hammer chamber 12. Then, the gun hammer 16 shifts to the rear edge of a percussion cap holder by the stored potential energy, and collides. Then, the percussion cap 7 shifts to a gun hammer needle 4. Then, the gun hammer needle 4 is stuck into the gun powder 27, which is ignited. The flame reacts with a generating agent, and gas is generated.
