TRANSPARENT STYRENE RESIN

PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent styrene resin which can be injection-molded at low temperature and is improved in transparency, moldability and strengths by mixing a specified styrene polymer with a specified block copolymer. CONSTITUTION:This resin is obtained by mixing 99-20wt.% styrene polymer having a viscosity (in a 10wt.% toluene solution) of 15-80cPs and comprising 80-99.5mol% structural units of formula I (wherein R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H or 1-5C alkyl) and 20-0.5mol% structural units of formula II (wherein R3 is H or methyl; and R4 is 1-8C alkyl or is 2-8C alkyl when R3 is methyl) with 1-80wt.% block copolymer comprising at least one vinylaromatic hydrocarbon polymer block and at least one polymer block containing at least 50wt.% conjugated diene and having a weight ratio of the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon to the conjugated diene of 60:40 to 95:5, a number-average molecular weight of the aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block of 10000-70000 and a number-average molecular weight of the conjugated diene polymer block of 500-200000.
