A cycling machine comprises a substantially "U" shaped frame which carries a seat and which is supported upon splayed front and rear pairs of legs, the frame carrying pedal cranks and pivotally mounted handlebars, arranged to be pulled by the rider towards himself against spring action. In Fig. 3, the upper parts of the splayed legs of each pair 4 and 5 are secured one on either side of the respective limbs 2 and 3 of the frame 1 and the handlebars 6 are mounted on a column 10 which is pivoted at 11 between the upper parts of the front legs and can co-operate with the limb 3 which acts as an abutment to limit the forward movement of the handlebars induced by the spring 12. Fig. 4 shows the pedal cranks mounted on a split bracket 15 which can be positioned along the frame 1. resistance to rotation of the pedal cranks is, in this embodiment, supplied by pads 18 which are adjustably pushed against the disc 17 'by the screw means 20. The frame is preferably made of tubular metal.
