PURPOSE:To improve joining strength of a contact tape to inlay base metal by fitting the contact tape in a groove having a rectangular cross section provided in the longitudinal direction of the base metal, subjecting these to hot press-contacting and then, applying an electron beam on a boundary part between the base metal and the contact tape. CONSTITUTION:The groove 3' having the rectangular cross section is provided in the longitudinal direction of the beltlike inlay base metal 1. The contact tape 5 having the same rectangular cross section is then fitted in the inside of this groove and subjected to hot press-contacting. Afterward, the electron beam is applied from above to the boundary part between the inlay base metal 1 and the contact tape 5, namely, a contact part between both sides of right and left vertical to the groove 3' of the inlay base metal 1 and both sides of right and left vertical to the contact tape 5 to perform welding and the beltlike inlay material 7 is manufactured. The quantity of noble metal of the contact point can be thus reduced and the joining strength of the contact tape to the base metal can be improved. |
