The present invention relates to an adamantin polymer characterised in that it is prepared by polymerisation of a perhalogenated compound comprised of a carbon-containing skeleton with sp3 structure and which contains at least one adamantin pattern, or a mixture of this type of compound, the compound (or compounds) being reduced in an appropriate container at a temperature and pressure such that they polymerise. The invention also relates to applications of the adamantin polymer.
