The invention relates to a device for operating a blind contained between two panes of glass and enabling them to be protected from external and internal pollution by virtue of the fact that this blind is contained in a sealed space. It consists of a top vertical section (1) serving as an insert between the double glazing and in which run the pull cords (5) for operating the slats of the blind (2), which cords are fixed to the support bar (3). The vertical section (10) acting as an insert receives a ferromagnetic counterweight fitted with a pulley (8) around which the pull cords pass and are then fixed to the attachment point (15) on the section (1). As the external ferromagnetic operating unit, which is located facing the counterweight, is moved vertically, it enables the counterweight to be moved with it and therefore to act on the position of the slats of the blind. <IMAGE>
