<p>PURPOSE: To provide improved method and apparatus for inserting a wiring harness into an opening, e.g. fire wall of an automobile, to be installed in place. CONSTITUTION: A shroud 102 is enlarged and extended to the outer surface of an applicator tube 104 and then a harness is inserted into the applicator tube 104. When the harness is inserted into the applicator tube 104 and passed over the applicator tube 104, the shroud 102 is stripped from the applicator tube 104 and the harness is wrapped. The harness is inserted into an opening, e.g. fire wall of an automobile, and installing in place. The shroud 102 initially inserted into the opening as a tubular body is opened quickly by means of a single ring stitch 120 and a tab 124 for accelerating removal of the shroud 102 and removed from the harness. According to the method, the harness can be removed easily using an inexpensive material and the cost can be reduced through reuse.</p> |
