PURPOSE:To print an image at a specified position on printed matter having an identification display which is transported by a conveyor. CONSTITUTION:Image data of an image signal relative to a can lid 3 which is read using an image sensor 8 is processed with the help of a computer, and a gradient angle theta against a straight line in a reverse transport direction X' stretching from the center C of a pinch hole 6a to the center O of he can lid and a position (d) in a direction at right angles with the transport direction X of the can lid 3, are obtained by the mentioned computerized process. Print image data which is previously entered in the computer is converted to print image data for output so that an image 16 is printed at a specified position using coordinate conversion technique based on the gradient angle theta and the position (d). Finally the print image data for output is entered in a non-contact line printer and data is printed using a printer head 13. |
