PURPOSE:To provide new HP530 substance separated from a culture product of actinomycetes belonging to genus Streptomyces and having excellent therapeutic action compared with known antitumor substance. CONSTITUTION:HP530 substance and HP530 substance derivative of formula I (X is 2-4C acyl or H; Y is 2-4C acyl or H; Z is group of formula II to formula IV) or its pharmacologically permissible salt, e.g. the HP530D substance of formula V. The compound can be produced by contacting a microbial strain belonging to genus Streptomyces and capable of producing HP530 substance, e.g. Streptomyces sp. HP530 strain (FERM BP-2786) with a medium containing nutrient source assimilable by ordinary microorganisms, culturing the strain under aerobic condition, separating from the culture product and purifying the separated substance. The HP530 substance derivative is obtained by deacetylating and optionally further acylating the HP530 substance. |
