Device of the type comprising a flat metal body having two openings (3, 4), one (4) of which is intended for the passage of a crab (karabiner) for hooking onto the user's harness, and the other (3) of which is intended for the passage of the top and bottom strands of the rope. According to the invention, it includes, between the two openings (3, 4), a recess (5) opening out on the side of the opening (4) for hooking of the crab and delimited, on the one hand, by the part of the body of the device, and, on the other hand, by a snout (6) intended for frictional guiding of the loop of the rope.
