In a method for qualitative analysis of particles of different types of plastic by means of emission spectral analysis, the irradiation of shortwave light is used to record an emission spectrum, which has optical radiation of a comparatively longer wavelength, in terms of intensities of radiation within a relatively narrow waveband, and is used to identify the plastics particles. In order to identify rapidly and sort particles of different types of plastic which occur in large quantities, the individual plastic particles are subjected to a light pulse, a characteristic is formed from the intensities of radiation of the discrete wavelengths or wavebands using an algorithm, and a sorting signal is obtained by comparing this characteristic with prescribed limiting values. …<IMAGE>… |
