The tap dispenses frothy drink, having a housing (5+11), a compensator adjusted by a selector lever (44) and containing a tapering inner face (15) and an oblong body (6) on a stem (20) and with a mating outer face. This widens in the flow direction, and has an adjustment (31) varying the width of the intervening gap (19). The compensator also acts as a main valve, the body being spring-loaded (35) against the internal face. The stem protrudes beyond the body in the downstream direction, passing through a chamber (21) in the housing and via a seal (25) through its rear wall (22) for coupling (45) to the lever (44).
