978,398. Delivering sheets in counted batches. JAGENBERG-WERKE A.G. Sept. 13, 1963 [Oct. 27, 1962], No. 36158/63. Heading B6H. After a predetermined number of sheets have been delivered to a stack, a blade 20 is moved above the stack by means of a pivoted lever 22 and solenoid 23. Thus, a gap is formed between succeeding sheets delivered to the stack and the counted batch by said blade. A marker strip is fed from a reel 13 into said gap by rollers 12. The latter are driven by a motor 11. Next, the blade is withdrawn and a knife 15 reciprocated by a solenoid 18 to cut off the marker strip. The solenoids 18 and 23, and motor 11, are operated in sequence under the control of a counter 25. The latter is pre-set to the required number of sheets and a photo-electric device 24 detects the passage of each sheet from a rotary cross-cutter to the stack.
|
