A lightweight, suspended flap (2) protects the insertion channel (1) by its flat, lower end. The flap is fitted in a slot shaped recess (4) in a side wall (6) of the channel, closing it up. The lower end (3) is made with an oblique surface (7). When a coin is inserted, it meets this oblique surface, swivelling the flap by its weight, so that the coin slides through the channel. The flap activates a switch, indicating its position. The side wall is made with at least two transverse slots (9), one after the other, while the lower end of the flap has a corresp. number of thin ribs (8), normally engaging in the slots. The coin will usually swing the flap free of the slots, when it is inserted, but it will swing back after the coin (M) has passed through, unless there is a string attached. USE/ADVANTAGE - Coins with strings can be recognised automatically and easily, preventing misuse. Suitable for automatic vending machines.
