PURPOSE:To accurately surely detect oscillation like pitching, bouncing, etc., of a vehicle and effectively restrain the ascillation without sacrificing controllability and riding quality in a suspension controlling method for the vehicle having the chassis and carbureter sides respectively interposed therein suspension systems capable of varying a damping force. CONSTITUTION:When under the condition of at least fixed vehicle speed the amplitude of vertical oscillation detecting output of a vehicle is within long wave period approximately corresponding to the resonance period of the carbureter side suspension and half-wave period exceeding predetermined acceleration continues over at least 2, damping forces of suspensions at the carbureter and chassis sides are characteristically changed over to the hard side while the half-wave period continues. |
