The converter of high clock frequency for driving a 3-phase asynchronous motor (M) contains transistors clocked by a defined fundamental frequency of the output voltage and with free-running diodes in the half bridges. Each half bridge has only one transistor (T1,T3,T5) clocked by the fundamental frequency during one half cycle and another (T2,T4,T6) on throughout the other half cycle with associated free-running diodes (D1-D3). USE/ADVANTAGE - For use with motor with short-circuit rotor for driving washing machine. Enables higher end speed and greater spread of speeds to be achieved at lower component cost.
