PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material superior in color forming sensitivity, suitable for high-speed recording, and improved in background whiteness by using a specific sbstd. phenyl acetate compound in the thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:As a sensitivity improver, a sbstd. phenyl acetate compound shown by a formula 1 is incorporated in a thermal recording material mainly composed of a leuco dye and a color developer. In the formula 1, R is alkylene; X, Y, Z independently represent hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, or cyano; and X, Y, Z may form a ring by bonding with each other. By using the sensitivity improver, the thermal recording material is made superior in color forming sensitivity and suitable for high-speed recording and improved in background whiteness. |
